The Houston Edit | Crazy May

An A-MAY-zing Look at Luxury, Listings and Local Life

Sorry for the cheesy pun… I had to. It’s MAY you guys! 2026 is flying by and I cannot believe how quickly. Soon the kids will be out of school, and the craziness of summer will begin! This month I pulled together some information I hope you find interesting. If there is something you want to know more about, or a feature idea, please let me know!

I know everyone knows about the "Darth Vader" house. It sold last year for $3.4 million to well-known Mexican photographer and sculptor Enrique Cabrera. Since purchasing the property he has created not only a home, but an experience. He has adorned the home with his own artwork beginning with The Platinum Bull (el Doro de Oro) which, after years of traveling the world now sits outside the front entrance, on the corner of Buffalo Speedway and University Boulevard in West University. Imagine living inside your own personal art gallery. Uniquely scaled, thoughtfully captured natural light throughout, it truly is an experience. I walked this home when it was previously listed. It is so unique, and frankly impractical if you have little kids, that it is likely worth every bit of its $7.777 million price tag (yes, an almost $4 million increase). The listing agent is a rock star and I wish her the best of luck with this guy. Of course, if any of YOU are in the market, you know who to call!

April by the Numbers...

A lof of you are curious about the market in your specific neighborhoods. I have run some stats for the Meyerland/Willow Meadows/Westbury area as well as Bellaire for April 2026 vs April of 2025. Below are my findings. On average, the market in April is similar to that of last year. Bellaire did see a huge sale in April 2025 of $3,254,000 which drove the average sales price for that month up considerably (the next expensive sale came in at $1.8 million). Please note that any sales reported prior to 2pm on 4/30 were not included. Do these numbers surprise you? Would you like me to create a custom market report for you? I would love to feature other neighborhoods of interest! Let me know by shooting me an email or text!

GOLDFORD at White Oak Music Hall | May 3rd

A friend of mine from my days at the University of Kansas is a touring musician! JYou may remember Jeff Goldford (now Goldford... like Madonna) from Season 9 of American Idol. He will be performing as part of his Space of the Heart tour at White Oak Music Hall this Sunday! I saw him last year and it was great! Think: Teddy Swims meets Noah Kahan. Tickets are available here. Highly suggest checking him out. Hope to see more friendly faces there!

Dave Matthews Band at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion | May 8th

If you're not in the market for new artists, maybe Dave Matthews Band is more your speed. The way my friends and I loved DMB in High School. Such great memories! Snag a seat or spread out with a blanket on the lawn for this show that will be a fun night of nostalgia and new memories. Tickets can be purchased here.

Artechouse: Blooming Wonders - A Celebration of Spring | May 1 - May 31st

I have never been to Artechouse but I think this has enticed me to go. Also located in Washington D.C. and New York City, the Houston location is at 600 West 6th Street between North Shepherd and Yale. This technologically-driven, multi-sensory i mmersive art installation is celebrating Spring all month! I definitely want to check it out soon! Tickets can be found here.

Final Note

I am so excited for this upcoming month. I have a condo listing coming up in the Museum District in the next day or so and have several buyers out there looking to snag their next homes and I'm honored and excited to be a part of their journey. Referrals are incredibly appreciated. I aim to be helpful, informative and diligent for all of my friends and clients. Please think of me if you or someone you know needs my real estate services.

I hope you enjoyed this month's issue. Can't believe June is right around the corner! Have a wonderful May celebrating... everything!
